About Me
Hello and welcome to Mindful Movements Pilates online world…
I’m Debbie and I am a Pilates teacher who hopes to encourage others to enjoy the benefits that Pilates can bring to everyone. I would like to help as many people as possible to catch the Pilates bug and see and feel what a difference it can make to our everyday lives …

I discovered Pilates following an injury where I had to stop high impact sport temporarily and many people like me, do seek out Pilates at a point in their life where they need or want to make a change. I had to consider how I was going to find and fulfill my need to escape, release, challenge my body, feel the buzz of endorphins and hopefully return to daily life a more relaxed human being. Others need to find a form of exercise that works for them – some want to create time when they can concentrate on movement – many are keen to strengthen and streamline their bodies …
For me, Pilates was the key to making a change in my life that could continue to bring the long term benefits of exercise but the magic of Pilates is that it can also bring so much more to your life. It now seems obvious that a combination of exercise, time to focus on yourself and a chance to challenge our bodies would bring me to a good place …. And as a mum, partner and daughter, I’m so glad to have found an enthusiasm for something that has brought benefits to every part of
my life! So, I am determined to be able to offer something for everyone, whether it’s to maintain your body and feel like your joints stay ‘oiled’ and less creaky, or just to breathe and feel peaceful or to challenge your bodies to new limits, I have a class for you. It is as it says on the tin – ‘Mindful Movements’ – we can learn to understand how our bodies are designed to move and we can challenge and train those bodies to become both stronger and more balanced. Our powerful minds can so easily wander in an unhelpful direction but can be steered to focus on feeling the movement of our bodies and that can that lead to a relaxed and peaceful place.
We can improve our posture, develop our musculature and become more confident in how we move, feel and look. And all it takes is time and support to develop a new habit – the Pilates way …..
